As partners in the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP), Community Housing Network and Venture, Inc. are offering 12 great homes at affordable prices in the Unity Park neighborhood in Pontiac.

Oakland Homeownership Program

The Oakland Homeownership Program is geared toward people who are interested in owning a home but may not think they have the credit score or income to accomplish that goal.

CHN has a limited number of opening in its Oakland Homeownership Program for individuals or families that meet the following criteria:

  • Tri-merge credit score of at least 620 (this is the middle score of the three credit scores, it will be combined if married)
  • Maximum household income of no greater than 80 percent area median income adjusted for family size (see chart below)
  • Minimum monthly income of $1,700

Homebuyer Education

Community Housing Network offers free classes on homebuyer education where we cover a number of topics:

  • Budgeting, saving for a home and down payment assistance options
  • Determining when you are ready to buy
  • The loan process and how to avoid predatory lending
  • Choosing the right home for you
  • Homeowner responsibilities and home maintenance
  • Additional information!

Whether you are just starting to consider homeownership, or are well along in the process, our classes can help! All are welcome to participate for free.   more
