Each year, generous donors give basic necessities, gifts and support to our Adopt A Family program. Adopt A Family forwards these on to participating CHN families during the holiday season.
In its eighth year, Adopt A Family will serve more than 500 people, many of them recently homeless. While these families now have a roof over their heads, many do not have money for holiday gifts or even basic items such as coats, hats and mittens.
How does Adopt A Family work?
Simply let us know that you are interested in becoming an Adopt A Family donor, and we'll provide you with a wish list.
Donors are asked to shop for items on the list, spending no more than $125 per recipient.
Return the new and unused gifts wrapped and labeled by December 7.
To adopt a family or individual in Oakland or Macomb counties, please contact Sue Cole at Scole@chninc.net
or at 248-928-0111 ext. 1382. To adopt a family or individual in Wayne County, contact Michelle Meredith at MMeredith@chninc.net
or 734-419-7550.
Donations will be accepted 9 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays through Friday, December 7. Those with gifts for Oakland and Macomb residents are asked to bring them to the Troy office, 570 Kirts Blvd., Suite 225. Those with gifts for Wayne residents are asked to bring them to the Wayne office, 35425 W. Michigan Ave., Suite 3649.
General items such as paper products, cleaning supplies and personal care items are also being collected and can be dropped off during business hours at either location.
