Financial Assistance

Housing Financial Assistance can be for a variety of purposes, depending on specific program criteria and eligibility, as well as funding availability. Limited, short term financial assistance can sometimes include funds designated for:

  • Preventing evictions
  • Assisting an individual or family in securing new housing
  • Helping with utility shut offs or reconnections

Please note that Financial Assistance  programs may be offered at Community Housing Network or partner agencies and community partners. Often, the first step for financial assistance is Department of Human Services (DHS). Most agencies want to see a commitment letter or denial letter from DHS.

A note regarding Utility Help: In order to provide assistance, most providing agencies require shut off notices for heat, water, and electricity.
