Vice President/Chief Financial Officer
Carrie Mendoza is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the organization in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. As a member of the executive management team, she develops strategic plans to support the future viability of the organization through a diversified financial portfolio. She has implemented and enhanced policies and procedures to support CHN’s ongoing compliance and risk management program as well as the achievement of CARF accreditation.
Carrie served as manager for Plante Moran before joining Community Housing Network. While at Plante, Carrie gained more than 13 years of experience providing assurance, tax and business consulting services for not-for-profit organizations with strong technical skills in accounting/audits, and extensive involvement as a leader for organization-based projects and teams.
Among her professional designations and organizations are: Certified Public Accountant – State of Michigan; member American institute of Certified Public Accountants; and Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, where she served as a member of the Employee Benefits Task Force. Carrie was a speaker at the Compensation and Benefits Conference of the American Society of Employers, the Audits of Employee Benefit Plans Conference of the MICPA and the Talent Strategy Summit of the Michigan Nonprofit Association. She is a Leadership Oakland alumna.
