Vice President of Programs and Operations
Dawn Calnen is responsible for overseeing Community Housing Network’s operations and administration, as well as program and policy development and implementation.
An avid advocate for people in need, she has extensive experience helping people with disabilities plan their housing and support needs. She holds a license with the State Bar of Michigan as a member of the Real Estate Law Section, with both state and federal jurisdictions, and served as Staff Attorney for The Arc of Oakland County for five years before joining Community Housing Network. She holds a Michigan Real Estate Broker’s License and is an active member of the North Oakland County Board of Realtors.
Dawn is active in many organizations including the Oakland County Task Force on Homelessness and Affordable Housing, the David A. Lennon Foundation, and is past chair of the Oakland County Regional Interagency Consumer Committee.
She is also an adjunct faculty member for Macomb Community College’s Business Program, where she teaches Real Estate Law. She is a Leadership Oakland alumna and active community volunteer, serving the Warren Consolidated School District, St. Rene Parish, Gift of Life Michigan and other organizations, and is President of Angus Elementary’s Parent Teacher Organization and Vice President of the Eastside Eagles Football Club.
