After 22 Years, Community Housing Network Announces Change in Leadership
On October 9, Community Housing Network’s Founding CEO Marc Craig shared his plans to retire, and Kirsten Elliott was appointed as the organization’s new President. This transition, carefully considered by the Community Housing Network Board, will take place over the next 12 months, ensuring a seamless handover of responsibilities.
Kirsten has been an integral part of Community Housing Network for over twenty years and has played a vital role in the organization’s growth, strategy, and vision. Throughout her tenure, Kirsten has contributed to the development of a strong leadership team, a comprehensive strategic plan, and innovative growth strategies.
“I am honored to be appointed as the new president of this incredible, hardworking organization and am excited to continue the important work that we do,” said Elliott. “My commitment is to be a champion for housing choices and opportunities for all community members. I look forward to working with our team to amplify our impact and create lasting change in the lives of the people we serve.”
CHN Board President Bill Robinson explains the decision, “We are so fortunate to have a leader with Kirsten’s knowledge, experience, and ability step in as President of Community Housing Network. She shares our entire team’s passion for sustainable, inclusive communities, and she has already implemented the creation of innovative programs and a more streamlined organizational structure. Kirsten’s reputation and deep knowledge of Community Housing Network’s daily operations undoubtedly make her the right choice to lead us forward.”
Recognizing the need to pool resources and promote real estate development as a solution to homelessness, Marc Craig founded Community Housing Network in 2001. He will continue as the organization’s CEO during the transition. “It’s been an incredible journey leading this team that helps people overcome challenges every day. With Kirsten’s leadership, I’m confident the organization will continue to grow, evolve, and advocate for the members of society who need us the most,” Marc said.
In the coming months, Kirsten and Marc will work closely together, ensuring a transfer of knowledge, responsibilities, and relationships. Their collaborative efforts will ensure that Community Housing Network remains committed to its vision of ensuring that all members of society have equal access to a safe home and a chance to succeed in life.
