Tom Landry Critical Needs Fund

The Tom Landry Critical Needs Fund exists to rapidly cover any expense critical to someone's stable housing that isn't covered by any other grant or funding.

We help hundreds of people each year find safe, decent and affordable homes. However, the Federal support of many of our programs offers very limited funding for expenses such as security deposits, bus passes or obtaining proof of identity needed to sign a lease. There is also very limited funding to help with household basics like furniture, dishes, cookware, utensils, small appliances, personal care and cleaning products.

In 2024, the Critical Needs Fund was named after founding board member, longtime supporter, and construction consultant, Tom Landry, who's commitment to Community Housing Network was an integral part of the organization's establishment and growth.

Our Critical Needs Fund helps fill these gaps… and 100% of the donations to this fund are used to provide for the unmet needs of the people we serve.

• $1,000 can help pay a security deposit
• $600 can provide essential furnishings for a one-bedroom home
• $250 can pay for a twin bed and bedding
• $100 can help with the cost of cookware, kitchen utensils and dishes
• $70 can purchase 31-day SMART bus pass
• $50 can pay for cleaning supplies and personal care products
• $10-$50 can help secure proof of identity needed to sign a lease
