Community Overview

Unity Park Rentals is a single-family home, multi-phase development in the Unity Park neighborhood of Pontiac. Unity Park Rentals features multiple high-quality, rental residential homes. The first phase of 32 homes was completed in 2015. Phases II, III IV and V were completed between 2016 and 2021, there is a total of 79 homes in these five phases, and Unity Park Rentals Phase VI will add an additional 15 homes in 2024. 38 of the homes are Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) units, with a project based voucher and additional supportive services.

Homes are available for families of mixed income levels earning between 30% and 60% of Oakland County’s Area Median Income (AMI). Unity Park offers multiple amenities including a community space, community garden and onsite support.  There are nearby multiple community amenities such as public transportation, grocery stores, places of worship, recreational spaces and healthcare facilities.

Community Requirements

Unity Park homes is a mixed-income development.  The homes are available for individuals and families earning between 30% and 60% of Oakland County’s Area Median Income (AMI). AMI is subject to change. Household’s for the PSH units are pulled from the county’s registry. To be placed on the registry you must meet HUD’s category one (1) definition of experiencing homelessness: living unsheltered on the street, living in a homeless shelter, living in a hotel being paid for by a service agency, living in a place not meant for human habitation. Rents range from $270 to $820. 26 of the 67 Unity Park Rentals homes are set aside for residents in need of supportive services. The homes are located in the neighborhood with the following boundaries: Auburn Avenue to the north, S. Sanford Street to the east, Osmun Street to the south and Perkins Street to the west.

Applicants must pass a basic credit and criminal background check to qualify. For households with lower incomes, lower rents are available. Unity Park Rentals accepts Housing Choice Vouchers (formerly known as Section 8 vouchers).
